Welcome to a Journey that never ends.
A Journey of Self Discovery.
Welcome Home.
To get started I’m going to encourage you all to do two simple but pervasively profound practices
Meditation on the Breath for between 5 - 25 minutes every day.
*Notice the sensations of the breath at either the nose, chest or belly.
*Hold your attention at this spot for the duration of your mediation.
*Every time you notice your attention has wandered or waned bring it back to the sensations of the breath.
At the end of your meditation make a note in your journal about anything you noticed.
There’s so much to this simple practice. We use it initially to train our attention and get into the habit of meditation. Once these qualities have been established all sorts of learning and realisation will come your way.
*Gratitude Journal - every day write in you journal 3 things you are grateful for.
This is a way to bolster positivity and improve mood.
It seems almost so simple that it’s silly but I highly recommend doing this.
Once we make a habit out creating positive thoughts it becomes easy for us to direct this positivity toward ourselves and others.
These are our foundation practices and if they are all you do for the next 8 weeks I’m sure you’ll be better of for having done them.
One thing to consider as you start this journey is your personal reason for coming on board.
What is your why?
Ideally what will you get out the course?
Why have you chosen to dedicate time and energy to mindfulness, meditation and journaling?
It has been said “with a strong enough why we can bear any how.”
By investing some time to be clear on what you’d like to get out of this journey you’re more likely to make the the time and the effort to do the work.
Just a reminder of our foundations exercises to be practised daily
