“I have no doubt that most people live - whether physically, intellectually or morally - in a very restricted circle of their potential being.
They make use of a very small portion of their possible consciousness, much like a man who,
out of his whole bodily organism, should get into the habit of using and moving only his little finger.”
William James
Do you ever feel like you’re capable of more —
that you’re not showing up as the person you could be at home, at work, or in life?
That the stress, noise, and busyness of modern life are clouding your judgement and pulling you away from your potential?
Over time, this can feel frustrating. Heavy. Like no matter how hard you try, something keeps getting in the way.
What if the solution was already within you — hidden in plain sight?
Meditation and mindfulness help make the invisible visible,
expanding self-awareness so you can break free from unhelpful patterns and become more of who you truly want to be.
Meditation on the Breath
This is a simple but profound practice that can help you experience less stress and reactivity and more calm, centred presence.
TRY THIS:
1. Set a timer for the duration you choose to meditate.
2. Sit in place you can be still for the duration of your meditation.
3. Guide attention to the sensations of the breath at a particular part of the body (nose, chest, belly are some options)
4. When you notice your attention has wandered away from the breath, firmly & gently guide attention back to the breath (this noticing is part of the practice not a mistake or failure).
5. Work on maintaining attention on the breath for sustained periods of time.
Body Scan Meditation
The Body-scan is powerful meditation for getting to know your body on a deeper level, regulating your nervous system (creating more safety), training your attention (remember energy flows where attention goes) and a powerful practice of deep listening.
